TALFUW now available!

Yup, it’s all done.  Towards a Less Fucked Up World: Sobriety and Anarchist Struggle is now available!  We’ll be tabling it at the 2010 Portland Zine Symposium this weekend along with the rest of our lovely distro, but if you don’t live here and you want a copy of this pivotal essay, you can also purchase online!  You can pay via PayPal by sending $4 ($3 for the zine, $1 for shipping) to: radixmedia@riseup.net and including your shipping address.

When sending money via PayPal, please send it as a “gift” rather than a “payment.”  Thank you!

Portland Zine Symposium and Facebook.

Things have been extremely hectic lately, as we’ve been gearing up for the Portland Zine Symposium! We’ll be featuring two newly offset printed zines:  Towards a Less Fucked Up World: Sobriety and Anarchist Struggle and When Language Runs Dry, Issue #1.  We feel fortunate to provide these crucial pieces to our community, and we hope you enjoy them.  In addition, we have re-stocked our distro, so we hope you’ll check out what we have to offer.

Also, just in case social networking is your thing, we have created a “Page” on Facebook.  Just search for Radix Media, and “Like Us” to receive updates even quicker than on the website.  Of course, the website will still be useful for checking out our rate card and downloading free posters!

Radix Media to re-publish zine by Nick Riotfag

So, if you haven’t yet heard the news, Radix Media will be re-publishing the zine Towards a Less Fucked Up World: Sobriety and Anarchist Struggle by writer and activist Nick Riotfag!

A crucial resource for sober and non-sober folks alike, Towards a Less Fucked Up World: Sobriety and Anarchist Struggle explores the connections between intoxication and different types of oppression. In a clear and engaging writing style, author and activist Nick Riotfag presents a brilliant analysis on sobriety, radical communities, safe spaces and accountability.

In the seven years since it was released, this essay has moved and inspired hundreds, maybe thousands of people. It was first self-published in 2003 and has been but a ghost in recent years.  It was updated with an afterword and included in the book Sober Living for the Revolution: Hardcore Punk, Straight Edge and Radical Politics (PM Press, 2010).

Nick Riotfag is an anarchist, queer and straight edge activist / writer based in North Carolina. He can be contacted at: xriotfagx@riseup.net.

Radix will be tabling the zine along with others at this year’s Portland Zine Symposium, set to take place on August 28-29, 2010.  Hope to see you there!
